How do you normally charge for your service?

We go out to our Clients, do a property inspection and take all the correct measurements for the areas we need to quote on. Then we take the information back to our offices and generate a detailed quotation for our Clients which is then emailed to them. Our normal terms are 50% deposit and 50% on completion and these are done via EFT into our Business Account.

What makes your pricing competitive?

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

When it comes to roofing - do not try to do your own repairs and maintenance if you do not have the relevant experience (sometimes fixing someone elses mistake could cost more), do not apply quick fix products (in most cases all these products needs to be stripped off completely before we can start repairs). When it comes to wall coatings - try to give the walls a clean before hand and repair any minor holes and hairline cracks using crackfiller the less preparation works we need to do to a surface the more affordable it gets as the preperation work is always the hardest and most costly work of any project. When it comes to general maintenance work - it helps to keep the area tidy, clean and neat of any dirt and debris it does help to speed up the process. Always remember less is more as they say do what you can but never over do it.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

With roofing - it is always the type of the roof - Tiled, IBR, Corrugated Iron, Flat Roof, Harvey Tiles or Slate - Each roof surface is different and some uses more products than others and has more or less preperations that needs to be carried out. With roofing - it is always the size of the roof - Many people would measure floor sizes and assume that the roof size would measure the same when in fact this is almost never the actual case as with a roof surface you are working with pitches, etc which theoretically makes the roof surfaces larger than the floor surface. With roofing - the overall condition of the roof - logically a corrugated iron roof surface or an IBR roof surface that is covered in rust and holes would require alot more work, which is why we always do physical inspections and we do not work on telephonic estimations this why your quotation is always 100% accurate at the time we issue it and you can rest assured that the amount we quote would not change when we start work at your home, property, office, business or complex.

Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We are insured in order to protect you and your home in the event of anything going wrong whilst we are on site and usually with companies and factories or larger quotation we always adjust our insurance in order to accommodate the potential damages that could occur if any. All our products are guaranteed and we offer workmanship guarantees as well - a workmanship guarantee means that if anything goes wrong we come out to repair it at no cost to you for the entire length of the guarantee!

1. What product and workmanship guarantees they offer and do you receive it in writing - if it isn't in writing, does it really exist? 2. Ask to see proof of work they have done in the past and ask for contactable references if proof of their work cannot be provided. 3. Ask to see their terms and conditions before you allow them to do anything - some companies - more than you can imagine - have special clauses in their terms and conditions that protect them far more than you - some will bind their guarantees to special requirements of preventative maintenance way more often than you would like or can afford (Example: You get a 10 Year Guarantee but you must do preventative maintenance only through them every two years or your Guarantee will be null and void) 4. If they come to quote ask them as many questions as possible - it is your money they want so it is your right to ask - those contractors that are legitimate would feel comfortable with all your questions and would go out of their way to help you to understand the problems, the causes and the various solution options you have available. 5. Ask about their product compatibility with the current surfaces you have and the products they use - by just asking them this would in the least ensure that they would make every effort to stay true to the claims they will/might make and it gives you a leg to stand on should it not because you asked before they started.c 6. Make sure the company is legitimate - search for reviews about them, do research to see if their company is registered and active with the CIPC, do they do business through a private individual account or through a business account, are they VAT registered - a real company would have all these in place.
