I am designing the layout for a coffee table book, and I need some information about what the process of printing and binding the book would entail. I estimate that the book will be about 30-50 pages, excluding cover. It consists of artwork (pictures of paintings) and text. Please could you provide me with the following information? What format should the file be in? (I assume PDF, CMYK)
Do you prefer a specific format for the pictures in the book, or does it not matter if the complete file is in Pdf format? What different types of paper weights and finishes do you offer? What types of hard covers do you offer? Is there a minimum amount of books you will print? Are there technical requirements regarding things like print bleed and margins, colours and font styles? Please confirm whether printing will be done with digital or litho for up to 1,000 copies. What types of binding do you provide? What is the turnaround time for printing and delivery of books? What is your physical address? Would it be possible to come in to have a look at samples of books that you have printed to get an idea of sizing and finish, etcetera? I would also like a quotation for the following (these are only estimates for now, as I have not settled on exactly how many pages the book will be):

Pictures of paintings, with text
Full colour
Hardcover (please provide different options, if applicable, for the cover)
Quantities 100, 500, and 1,000 copies
Matte or gloss (or any other finishes, if applicable)
Proof copy/copies
