We have been living in this house for 43 years. Moving isn't an option for us. Our home needs quite a lot of attention, e.g. :
Exterior
* The underlay of the roof has to be replaced (old plastic underlay has partly disintegrated over time, causing several leeks), simultaneously paying attention to some serious structural changes/repairs to roof and walls, e.g. Removing certain parapets.
* 3 skylights to be installed in strategic places.
*IBR flat roof over braai room area to be changed to pitched tiled roof.
*Back stoop to be completely closed with a pre- painted aluzinc roof and ceiling, closed by aluminium sliding-doors and windows.
*Cracks in walls where rooms have been enlarged, as well as others, e.g. Lounge.
*Replacing a wooden double door, front door, back door and three windows with aluminium products. Interior
*Laundry area in garage to be enclosed with drywalling and a door
*Entire garage to get ceiling + proper lighting. Raw cement floor to get painted/rubberized/epoxy-coated???
* Ceiling with adequate lighting in newly constructed roof over braai room.
*Remove 2 wooden bedroom windows and a sliding-door(back stoep) - replace with aluminium sliding-door and sidelight OR aluminium/PVC louvred stack doors.
*Removing 4 rusty steel doorframes - replace with wooden doorframes.
*2 x complete bathroom makeovers
* whole interior to get new broader decorative cornicing.
