How do you normally charge for your service?
The service agreement will be provided for the drawing of plans and submission to the local council and the cost is project dependent.
A draughting fee varies quite significantly, as there are no standard fee scales and yet can charge a fixed fee if the scope is clearly defined and the project is not too complex.
What makes your pricing competitive?
The right draughting makes all the difference.
NOTE: There is NO ‘per-square-metre' fee. From the statutory side, one is unable to charge a client based on ‘per-square-meter’ cost, only charge either on ‘time-based’ fee OR ‘project-based’ fee. The draughting does not work the same job as any artesian service such as floor tiling covering, painting wall area or roof area covering that requires calculation for that particular area work needs to be done, then this ‘per-square-meter’ fee applies.

1. Do not commence any new construction: rarest case an objection imposed by a neighbour, business concerning or local community due to non-compliance building plan being lawfully complied, or agreement as 'no object' is required by an abutting neighbour, especially relaxation of building lines or other restrictive legal issues.
2. Paid up the municipal account to the minimum outstanding possible.
3. Go for energy efficiency methods and/or products.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
1. Stand number with the specific name of that township (suburb), not use a general city/town, such as Pretoria, but rather Wapadrand Township, If a farm, full name such as Portion 14 of the Farm Leeuwfontein 487-JR.
2. Copy of previously approved drawing plans (e.g. original house plans), where possible, otherwise will have to measure physically off all existing buildings and between those structures, including boundary lines, to be input into my CAD program before draughting commences with new work.
3. In some cases, location of external municipal sewerage point and/or private manhole point. As well, the contour of land where its land slope falls, especially to design stormwater management and installation of drainage systems correctly.
4. Zoning Information/Scheme Certificate particularly for that site we work on.
