Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
We offer a turnkey service from garden design to installation, including our builders, tilers, planting teams - we do not sub-contract as many landscapers do.
We operate from our 180,000m2 plant farm where we grow plants on a large scale and supply not only to our landscape clients but also to retail nurseries, other landscapers and export clients.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
The proof is in the pudding as they say - Our work has been featured in more then 250 articles sine we first appeared in print in 2008.
Our work has been featured on numerous television shows and we have been interviewed on a number of radio shows, including radio 702 live during prime time.
We have a team of designers and a number of installation supervisors who are all permanent employees.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
We specialise in residential gardens and we have a holistic approach that takes not only the garden plants into account but also feature areas such as entertainment spaces, braai areas, water features, patios and other elements that make a garden something to enjoy and use, adding value to your property and your lifestyle.
How do you normally charge for your service?
Our work ranges from small atrium areas (20m2) and townhouse gardens all the way up to large properties in equestrian estates (over 10,000m2) so we don't have any 'normal' charges.
Each design is based on the specific requirements of a specific client and the installation cost will depend on the design. For example, a garden with one tree and a patch of lawn will cost less than a garden with many planting areas and lots of trees - the more there is in the garden installation, the more the garden will cost.
What makes your pricing competitive?
We offer a very comprehensive service that is supervised on numerous levels. We offer our service at a price that is sustainable for our business and as reasonable as we can make it for our clients. When price is the most important aspect of installing a garden, corners will be cut - we do not cut corners in our work.
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Uptasker customers?
We can offer you a R2,000 plant voucher should you proceed with a garden installation with us.
This voucher is redeemable at our plant farm after installation and final payment of the garden installation.
The voucher is valid for 12 months after installation.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
1 - Remove any trees that you are wanting to clear - you will need a tree feller for this
2 - Remove any building rubble or other items that will be in the way of the new garden
3 - Do not remove plants that can be re-used in our design. This will save on buying new plants
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
We can only provide a quotation once we have completed a garden design as the cost is based on the design (in the same way that a builder can only quote on building a house after receiving a house plan)
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Plants are a product of nature and as with human beings, they cannot be guaranteed. Our plants are mostly grown on our own plant farm and are also sold to other landscapers as well as retail nurseries and export clients.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
1 - Can we see your prior work?
2 - Are you a formal business entity with a formal business address?
3 - How long have you been in business under your current trading name?
4 - What skills do you have within your business (excluding sub-contractors)
5 - What infrastructure does your business have? This includes vehicles, offices, staff, tools and equipment
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
We have been in the green industry since 1995 and we have been designing and installing gardens since 2006.
We have designed gardens for the typical home owner as well as for numerous homes of a sitting president, a five star hotel and public parks.
If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor space that will enhance your lifestyle and add value to your property, look no further - contact us to discuss your requirements.
