Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Choosing a tiler that will do a neat job first time is important, fixing a bad tiling job is expensive and can cause damage to your home. Have everything taken care of including cleaning up and removing all waste.

About Elton Jonkers Hi there! I’m Elton Jonkers, head tiler and master of the ship here at The Tile Guys. My Workmanship is my way of giving back for all the amazing things that I have learnt from generous people sharing their knowledge over the years. I’ve been a professional tile setter for over 20 years now (it’s really been that long?) and have had the opportunity to lay tiles in not only the Western Cape, but also parts of Eastern Cape and even Kwa-Zulu Natal. Since my first dabbings into tiling at 2002. I have learnt many tiling tricks over the years and discovered the best tiling tools to get the job done right without wasting time. With all that tiling knowledge and experience kicking around in my head, I thought it’d might be useful to someone, somewhere if I shared what I could – hence why Tile Guys exists! How do you normally charge for your service?

Most contractors will provide their clients with an estimate on a per square meter basis (wall and floor). Although this may seem to be very professional, it should not be the basis for the project selection I.E a bathroom renovation. More often than not, professional contractors quote per square meter based upon the size of the floor area. While you can indeed ask for a quote based upon the floor area directly, you have to remember that a large building with multiple floors will obviously incur larger charges. The estimate should be given for the exact area that needs to be covered only, and not the entire area from corner to corner and roof to floor if you only having a half tiled wall for example.
