I started my graphic design career in 1996 and have continuously upskilled through the years. I started working with printers, clothing and gift suppliers as a reseller from 2003 as well as signage when I purchased my first machine for the industry.

With regard to designs, it certainly helps if customers know what colours would work for their business, if there were specific fonts they would like to incorporate, and a mood board helps to see what they're looking at.
With printing, labels and signage, know what the size is you require, which is required for correct pricing and won't be a problem later.
With websites, the more information is given, eg. images, written content etc., the less we can charge for the site.
